The Drug Enforcement Agency’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is happening Saturday from 10 to 2.
This event is a national program that encourages people to dispose properly of prescription drugs and Karen Cotton, external affairs manager for Illinois American Water said Pontiac Township High School has been a driving force with this program, with the creation of the P2D2 program.
“I think it’s important for people to understand this shouldn’t just be a one-day event, that we need to not flush unwanted medications down the toilet or down the drain. It’s an impact on our water supply. We do encourage people to take part in the day and to do so throughout the rest of the year, as well,” Cotton said.
