Auditions for the Vermillion Players performance of “Legally Blonde” are happening this weekend in Pontiac.
The production is unique in the fact that it is solely comprised of people ages 16 to 25 and Vermillion Players Board Vice President Mary Jones said there is a cast of about 10 large roles, 10 smaller roles and several ensembles, as well as people of the same age to work on sets, props, lights, sound, advertising and backstage help.
“In many ways, it follows the same overall plot. I’d say probably 90 percent of the show is singing, so that’s really fun that it’s broken down into song like that,” Jones said.
The show is directed by Sean Young and auditions will be from 5 to 7 Saturday and 1 to 4 Sunday at the Vermillion Players building on Pearl Street.
