In other State news, the Illinois Chamber of Commerce says Illinois has moved up in the rankings in a new Economic Competitiveness Study, but policy makers could end up getting in the way.
Chamber President and CEO Todd Maisch says their new study piggybacks off work done by the Michigan Chamber of Commerce and takes 200 metrics from a variety of areas to indicate where Illinois stands compared to other states. Maisch says the good news is that Illinois is moving up, but that’s because of general positive economic growth, not because of elected officials.
Maisch says the study is meant to be a benchmark for policy makers and the public to better understand how Illinois is competing with other states.
