The Livingston County Public Health Department is reminding area residents it’s not too late to get their flu shot.

Linda Rhodes, Health Education and Marketing Director for the department, said the vaccines last 12 months, and it’s not always easy to pinpoint when it will hit its peak.

“It’s always very difficult when flu season will hit its peak or how long it will last into the spring,” Rhodes.

Rhodes said it seems that the peak is expected later than usual in the season.

“This year, the flu virus is hanging around into February and actually gaining momentum at a time when we don’t often see that,” said Rhodes.
