With another winter storm right behind us here in Livingston County, police advise motorists to have an emergency bag in their vehicle.

Pontiac Police Chief Jim Woolford suggest things from extra water, blankets and a flashlight, but also suggests roadside flares or lights to let oncoming traffic know your vehicle is disabled.

“I know we see semi trucks with the traffic triangles out. There’s nothing that a vehicle can’t have those in your car. It’s a smart idea for cars, as well. And when you need them, they’re a great thing,” Woolford said.
