The United Way of Livingston County has had to debunk falsehoods recently when it comes to where the donations go.

Deb Howard, executive director for the United Way of Livingston County, mentioned some Facebook posts are trying to sway people from donating to the organization, claiming the money goes to pay the CEO of the organization nearly a million dollars a year.

“I’d have to say 98 cents on every dollar stays here in the county. We give a lot of money to these agencies. Our operating expenses are very small. Anybody who wants to come into the office and go over our operating budget, I’d gladly go over it with you,” Howard said.
