While Gov. Bruce Rauner intends to work with the General Assembly on legislation, busting out a series of executive orders in his first week in office is an efficient way to set a tone, he said.
“My bias is to take action to undo pretty much everything that Gov. Quinn did since the election,” he said. “Every time we look, most of it’s bad. But we’ll deal with that in due course. We’ve got to review everything, and we’ll take appropriate action.”
The governor is rescinding appointments and also vowing to curb spending and increase ethics, all – so far – by executive order.
