Much of the country is plunging into a deep freeze this week, and it's bringing blowing snow with it./WJEZ file photo.

A Winter Weather Advisory takes effect at 6 o'clock tonight (1/5) and lasts until 6 o'clock tomorrow morning. Much of the country is being plunged into a deep freeze, and Livingston County is no exception. Before the storm ends, the WJEZ listening area could see 3 to 6 inches of snow accumulation, with some areas getting slightly more. The low temperatures should create a very dry and powdery snow that should continue to blow and drift after the snowfall has stopped.

Temperatures overnight are expected to drop to around 10 degrees, with a subzero wind chill situation through most of the night.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution during the storm as roads will become slippery and visibility could be severely limited by blowing snow.
