Pontiac will be welcoming a new downtown business coming sometime in November.

The Route 66 Sugar Shack will offer everything from soft serve ice cream to flavored sodas, along with other “soda fountain” finds.

At the Pontiac City Council meeting last night, Mayor Bob Russell said the new business will be a great addition to downtown Pontiac.

“Anytime we can fill another building or another store with something like that, that’s one more thing. People are coming here looking for things to do and stores to shop in. This will be one more that will fit with the whole program downtown,” Russell said.
