The Streator Onized Credit Union Golf Outing to benefit Cops and Kids is happening this Sunday at Wolf Creek Golf Course in Cayuga.
This is the third annual golf outing to raise funds for the program, which pairs children with law enforcement officers for a day of Christmas shopping.
Livingston County Sheriff’s Detective Ryan Bohm said goals keep getting higher in the hopes of reaching more children.
“The first year I helped with this program, we were spending about $100 on each of the kids we were taking. Last year, we were spending about $200 on each of the kids we were taking. Two hundred dollars doesn’t go really far. We try to be cost effective with it and pick out the stuff the kids really need,” Bohm said.
The event begins at noon with check in and the shotgun start is at 1 p.m. For more information, contact Diana Iverson at the credit union by emailing her at [email protected].
