The Village of Saunemin is having a special ribbon cutting ceremony later today in honor of the new upgrade to its water system.

This Pontiac Area Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be attended by State Representative Tom Bennett, Kathryn Hancock, who is an aide to State Senator Jason Barickman, and Saunemin Mayor Bob Bradford, along with representatives from the Illinois American Water company.

The approximately $1.5 million investment included removing the existing water tower and replacing it with three new fiberglass storage tanks.

The ceremony will take place at 18 Wellington Drive in Saunemin at 1 p.m.
