The Pontiac City Council met last night and addressed several items, including the re-opening of the Eagle Theatre.
The Vermillion Players are first in line to use the facility, with plans in place for a show the weekend after Thanksgiving, along with a complete show lineup for 2016.
Pontiac Mayor Bob Russell explained the agreement with the Players.
“We’ve just entered into an agreement that defines some of the ins and outs of how this is going to work, because not only will the Vermillion Players use it, but a lot of groups will use it on hopefully a daily basis, so we had to define when they Players will be using it and who will be using it during the daytime and how that will all work,” Russell said.
Also approved included the purchase of a used dump truck for the city, which will be coming from Northern Illinois at the cost of $50,000.
