Childress Takes Livingston County’s Message to Washington D.C.

Livingston County Sheriff Tony Childress

By Katharine Murphy

Livingston County Sheriff Tony Childress was in Washington D.C. last week, talking with lawmakers about immigration policy and controlling our borders.

Childress met with members of Congress on Capitol Hill to share his experiences and speak of the challenges public safety officers experience when dealing with illegal immigrants.

The group called on Congress to act on pending legislation to increase border security and reform the immigration system.

This marks the second time the sheriff has visited the nation’s capital on official business.
