Pontiac’s new splash pad opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday afternoon.
The new attraction, which is located directly west of the Rec Center, located on Elm Street right next to Pontiac Township High School, was built with funds from the Humiston Trust.
Louis Lyons, the trust’s chairman, said the splash pad is a place for all children to enjoy in the summer months.
“This is fantastic. I think the young people are going to enjoy this. It’s a new dimension of something to do in our town and I’m really quite pleased with what I’m seeing today,” Lyons said.
Visiting the splash pad is free, and rules can be found inside the rec center.
