The Pontiac Firefighters Local 3239 is continuing its T-shirt fundraiser after a great demand was made by the community.

Engineer Ryan Hanson said they have sold over 150 and had to make several orders, and will continue to do so as long as people are interested, as they are raising money for worthy causes.

“The money goes toward our local community projects in town. We have JFL sponsorships, which goes to, I believe, equipment there. Pontiac Junior Baseball League, again, equipment and we sponsor a team there. Pontiac Holiday Tournament. We sponsor, I believe, five families through the Salvation Army with half of it going toward gifts and half going toward food for families locally. We really appreciate the community support for this. It all kind of coincides with our new squad that we recently put into service, so if you see us out and about in it, swing by and take a look,” Hanson said.

To get your shirt, message the union’s Facebook page or simply stop by the department at the corner of Mill and Howard Streets. Shirts are gray or black with men’s, women’s and children’s sizes available.
