The third annual 5K for the United Way, sponsored by Caterpillar Pontiac, is happening at Caterpillar’s east parking lot Saturday, August 26th, beginning at 8 a.m.
The day will include the run, a 1 mile run and a kids fun run with an appearance of Ronald McDonald before the races begin. United Way of Livingston County Executive Director Deb Howard said CAT has always helped raise funds for the 18 agencies and appreciates the work they do.
“We are just so grateful to CAT for all the things they do for us, for all the events they sponsor and all the events they do themselves. This is important. We’re kicking it off. We’re starting the season. It’s time. It’s time to get ready and we just put last year to bed. It was late in doing so, but last year’s over and now it’s time for this year,” Howard said.
Howard said if you sign up immediately, you may get a T-shirt. That can be done at active.com or by stopping by the United Way office at 210 N. Plum Street in Pontiac.
