Three injured in Wednesday accident

Three people were injured in a car accident late Wednesday night.

According to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Police, 16-year-old Seth Mehrkens was driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am in rural Pontiac, when he failed to negotiate a small jog in the road and struck a culvert.

His car rolled several times and came to a rest on its side.

The back seat passenger, a 15-year-old female, was ejected from the vehicle.

The two and another 15-year-old female were taken to OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center. One passenger is still there and listed in good condition.

Mehrkens ant he backseat passenger were transferred to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, where Mehrkens is in fair condition and the backseat passenger is listed in critical condition.
