The City of Fairbury is having a weekend full of events for everybody, beginning this Thursday.
The list of activities begins with the Friends of the Dominy Memorial Library summer book sale, happening in the basement of the library, beginning at 9 a.m.
Friday and Saturday ushers in the city wide garage sales, sponsored by the Fairbury Woman’s Club. Club member Carol Ely says they have maps available for interested people, and the things that will appear at the sales across the community vary.
“Some of the items I have listed so far are coffee tables, end tables, hand tools, camping equipment, folding tables, binoculars, riding toys, home décor, children’s to adult clothing, winter coats, a house that’s for sale, knickknacks, toys, yarn, office supplies, kitchen items, appliances and collectible hats, to name a few of the items that we have for sale,†Ely said.
The Prairie Dirt Classic is Friday and Saturday at the Fairbury American Legion Speedway, as well.
