South Streator death under investigation

SOUTH STREATOR – Multiple departments are investigating what caused a teen to die while working for Luckey Transfer, LLC. in Livingston County.

According to the Livingston County Coroner, 17-year-old Hunter Austin Wolfe was collecting product samples from a rail car in South Streator Monday when he died. He had climbed the rail car to gain access to the load and got close to the high tension power lines that run along the tracks. Other employees working at the site found Wolfe.

The coroner performed an autopsy Tuesday, but Wolfe’s official cause of death is pending toxicology.

The Streator Police Department, the Livingston County Coroner’s Office, and OSHA are all investigating.

According to Wolfe’s Facebook page, he had been working for Luckey Transfer since May.
