Mosaic is looking for advocates throughout Livingston County to help people learn more about the clients who use Mosaic services.
Mosaic is a faith based organization serving people with intellectual disabilities with local homes in Pontiac and Dwight. Community Relations Manager Joan Carlson explained during Wednesday’s Discover the Possibilities luncheon that advocating for the people living in their homes includes sharing their mission, hosting a Discover the Possibilities event or even volunteering to just visit the clients and spend time with them, doing various activities.
“It makes all the difference in the world. It will make someone’s life more meaningful. A lot of times, they don’t have the chance to have family who live nearby or at all around them, or they don’t have friends outside in the community, so they need those kind of people out in the community to make a difference, to make a friends, to make a buddy. That’s huge right there,” Carlson said.
