The Pontiac Kiwanis met Wednesday for lunch and heard about the MOPS and Teen MOPS programs in Pontiac.

Ellen Yedinak, Teen MOPS coordinator, explained that MOPS stands for mothers of preschoolers, and is to there to give moms an opportunity to have support, community and education about being a better mom, healthier woman and wife.

“I think our biggest thing we want to get out there is that all moms are welcome. You don’t have to have a baby. You don’t have to have a toddler. Just any mom that needs that time to herself or with other moms is very welcome. You don’t have to be a member of a church. It’s open to the whole community. Really, for the Teen MOPS, we just want people to know about it and reach out to other young moms that may need it,” Yedinak said.
