The Livingston County Public Health Department will be holding Wellness Clinics July 5 and 19 at the office on Torrance Avenue.
These clinics include cholesterol, glucose, liver and kidney checks, and more, and marketing director Linda Rhodes explains the importance of attending these clinics.
“So it’s important that people have annual wellness screenings done, because there are many things that are going on inside our bodies that have no outward appearances. A very good example of that is blood pressure. Until it’s very extreme, there are no symptoms, which is why it’s called the “silent killer.” Also, we don’t know if our cholesterol is too high, because we don’t really have any outward symptoms of that, so to have that checked every year is very important,” Rhodes said.
The fee for basic services is $65 with the option of further testing, including thyroid and A1C, and most health insurance plans can be billed. To make an appointment, call the health department at 844-7174, extension 0.
