The Boys and Girls Club of Livingston County is saying goodbye to its longtime director.

Gary Beckman has been with the club for more than 16 years and has recently accepted a new position. Although it’s still with the Boys and Girls Club, he will be working from another state.

“I have accepted the CEO position for the Boys and Girls Club of West Central Missouri. I will begin that position at the end of July. It’s bittersweet. I’ve gotten to know a lot of people around here. I’ll still be with the Boys and Girls Club. We still will have family here that we’ll come back and visit on occasion. We’ll still stay in touch and keep an eye on things here. I know the Club here will prosper and do well, with the support of the community and the things the Club has accomplished and with the board that’s in place, they will do well. Very well,” Beckman said.

Though the Club hasn’t yet posted that they are hiring for his position, Beckman said interested individuals could apply at the Club at 1303 E. Indiana Avenue in Pontiac.
