While many statewide agencies, large and small, are feeling the pain of a lack of State budget, the Livingston County Children’s Advocacy Center is getting a helping hand from the county.
Executive Director Judy Brucker praised State’s Attorney Randy Yedinak, Multidisciplinary Team and the Livingston County Finance Committee for working with the group to run the center without a deficit.
“We will, of course, always try to access grant monies, but at the point that grant monies aren’t available, we’re not going to have to just rely on donor money through our affiliated not-for-profit to make up that deficit. As you know, these are statutorily required services that we must provide to these kids in these child abuse investigations,” Brucker said.
The Children’s Advocacy Center has been in Pontiac since 1999 and is located at 202 ½ North Main Street.
