Do you want to have a garden but don’t have space around your home? The City of Pontiac is offering an answer for you.
Pontiac Street Superintendent Chris Brock explains a new program started in the city.
“That’s something we started this spring. It’s at the corner of Cleary and North Oak Street. We’re looking for things to do with empty lots the city owns from houses that have been torn down and the city got those lots, so thought that would be a good way to make them available to the public for gardening, so we are going to till up one of those lots. They are marked off in 10 by 10 plots for $10 and you can reserve a plot and do some gardening this summer,” Brock said.
Space is limited, so visit Pontiac.org or email Brock at [email protected] to reserve your space.
