A Pontiac gas station was burglarized early Tuesday morning and officers found the alleged burglar inside.

According to a press release from the Pontiac Police, officers were notified of a possible burglary at Trainor BP, after an overnight newspaper delivery person noticed the front door was shattered. Upon arrival, officers found Karol Grzegorzewski of Brookfield inside with an open can of alcohol that had been stolen from the store. He was taken into custody but refused to enter his cell and attempted to fight with officers when taken to the Livingston County Jail. Officers also noted he was involved in a traffic crash outside Pontiac on Monday. Officers offered assistance in the form of a train ticket back to Brookfield, but he declined.

Grzegrorzewski was charged with burglary, criminal damage to property and resisting a peace officer.
