The Livingston County Board met Thursday evening and recognized March 4 and 5 as “Respect Days,” in honor of all the work done for the Run for Respect and Spread the Word to End the Word projects at Pontiac Township High School.
Chairman Bob Young explains.
“Paul Ritter kind of encouraged us. It was a resolution concerning bullying, not calling kids names because of disabilities or intellectual capabilities and trying to model our students so in school, everybody feels safe and nobody feels uncomfortable. They feel normal and can do normal activities. They can do so much given the chance, so we’re trying to end that word and try to help all kids,” Young said.
Saturday’s auction for used items at the former Livingston Manor was also discussed, along with asbestos abatement and ultimately, demolition. The forum with Young, where he details the meeting, will be available in the podcast section at wjez.com later today.
