The Pontiac Rotary is now accepting nominations for the 2016 Citizen of the Year.
Rotary program chairperson Lori Pemberton describes the qualities a Citizen of the Year would have.
“Rotary is about ‘Service Above Self’ so we’re looking for people who are volunteers in the community. A lot of time they’re in the background of different organizations or groups that you really don’t even realize what they’ve done,” Pemberton said.
Nomination forms can be picked up at Driscoll Motors, County Market, Caryl and Marilyn, Pontiac Township, First Financial Bank. Streator Onized Credit Union and Bank of Pontiac.
The banquet honoring the Citizen of the Year is planned for March 9 at the Pontiac Elks Club. Reservations can be made by calling Pemberton at 844-6682.
