LivCom, Livingston County’s 911 dispatch center, has expanded.

Manager of Communications Randy Wittenberg explains.

“Under the new House bill, the state has asked us to regionalize 911 centers. So, in a county like Livingston County, you can only have up to 2 911 centers. Livingston County only has one, so that’s not a problem. In LaSalle County, they had nine. Streator was going to have to consolidate with someone either in LaSalle County or otherwise. They looked around. We had some meetings with them. They chose to come to Livingston County and consolidate with us. We’re excited they did that. So, last May 1, we started dispatching for them,” Wittenberg said.
