COVID-19 Update–Livingston County Tops 5,000 Total Cases

By Todd Wineburner

The latest figures from the Livingston County Health Department say 52 new cases of COVID-19 infection were identified in the county between August 10th and August 16th. That takes the county’s grand total of positive cases to 5,071. 70 cases remain active and 93 cases have led to the death of the infected individual.

For those with conditions that compromise their immune system, the CDC is recommending additional vaccines. Before any action is taken, however, a number of factors should be considered. More information about additional vaccine doses and who should seek them is available at the Livingston County Health Department at www.lchd.us.

Immunizations are available at clinics offered at the health department complex on Torrance Avenue in Pontiac. In-home vaccination services are available for those with limited mobility. Details on these services is available at the LCHD website listed above.
