New COVID Cases Reported; New Vaccine Clinics Available

By Todd Wineburner

The Livingston County Health Department is reporting 62 new positive tests for COVID-19 infection for the period of April 20th through the 26th.

All of the positive tests in the latest figures came from county residents. That leaves the fatality rate unchanged at 84, and raises the total number of positive tests to 4,664. Details on the progress of COVID-19 in Livingston County is available at the LCHD website, www.lchd.us.

The health department is also reporting that 23% of county residents are fully vaccinated, and that 100% of the doses allocated to the county have been successfully administered. That means no doses have been wasted and LCHD Administrator Jackie Dever says that figure is a testament to the time, effort, and coordination required to make that happen.

Information on the latest vaccination clinics is available at the website listed above. There are now appointments available for the Johnson and Johnson and Moderna vaccines and they can be set online. Testing for COVID-19 remains available by appointment at area pharmacies.
