Unknown cause ignites Pontiac business

PONTIAC– An auto repair shop in Pontiac might be a total loss from a fire that happened there Wednesday evening.

A firefighter said Bernie’s Automotive on South Ladd Street in Pontiac was engulfed in flames when first responders arrived about 6:50 p.m.

Bernie’s owner saw the fire while towing a vehicle into the garage.

There were no injuries

Pontiac firefighters were aided at the scene by firefighters from Fairbury, Gridley, Cullom, Saunemin, Cornell, and Dwight.

Information about a cause and other details were not immediately available.
