Community Forum: More from State Senator Jason Barickman

Last week, State Senator Jason Barickman talked with Todd Wineburner about Governor J.B. Pritzker’s reliance on executive orders during the COVID-19 pandemic. Barickman contends that the governor should be opening up the state’s public health discussions to include voices other than his own. Barickman stresses, too, that this isn’t a matter of preference–he argues that a more inclusive process is mandated by the state constitution. Barickman begins by responding to a question regarding the argument that this is a health crisis and there’s no time for meetings and hearings.
