Livingston County COVID Total Approaches 1000

The Livingston County Health Department says 44 new COVID-19 cases were reported yesterday. The latest group includes 20 males and 24 females ranging in age from 10 into their 90s. None of the latest cases are inmates at Pontiac Correctional Center.

That brings the county’s grand total to 930 positive tests. 758 of those infected have completed their isolation, 116 cases remain active, six are hospitalized, 12 people have lost their lives to complications from the disease. 56 of the county’s positive cases had no symptoms when tested.

COVID-19 testing is available in Pontiac through a cooperative venture between the health department and OSF St. James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center. Testing is performed in the hospital parking lot on a drive-through basis. Appointments for tests are strongly recommended and can be made by calling (815) 844-7174.
