Yesterday, (10/5) Heartland Community College officials concluded that computer systems for the college had been compromised by an outside source.
Systems are currently down so that maintenance can be performed with the goal of getting all systems functioning safely as quickly as possible.
According to HCC Director of Public Information Steve Fast, there is no indication that any personal information was compromised, but anyone accessing the system is encouraged to take prudent steps to ensure the security of their online information.
