A nine-year-old boy has been identified as the victim of a fatal crash in Livingston County.

According to LIvingston County Coroner Danny Watson, Nathan Gast of Reddick died in a single vehicle accident that occurred at about 4:45 p.m. Thursday on Route 17 just east of Dwight.

The driver of a white Chevy Tahoe lost control of the vehicle on the icy road and ended up on its side in a ditch, according to Watson.

Assisting the coroner’s office at the scene were Dwight fire and police, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police and Illinois State Accident Reconstruction Unit.
