Residents in Pontiac may experience a temporary drop in water pressure or discolored water while crews are testing and flushing fire hydrants.

Illinois American Water is conducting the work across Pontiac through the end of the month. The company says no interruptions in water service will occur as a result of the work.

Illinois American Water advises that when crews are flushing nearby, customers may experience a temporary drop in water pressure or draw some discolored water for a short period of time. If this happens, it is recommended that customers let their cold water run to clear before using it again and refrain from doing laundry during that time.
