By WJEZ staff

At the latest Pontiac City Council meeting, representatives of the Farnsworth Group talked about the realities of a proposed bike path system for Pontiac. The proposal presented to the council includes a system of several different paths, covering a distance of just over 29 miles. The cost of the project as proposed would be about 3.8 million dollars. Council members approved the plan as presented so that state grants can be pursued through the offices of State Representative Tom Bennett and State Senator Jason Barickman. Farnsworth representative Jeff Martin said he believes the path system would be an enhancement to Pontiac’s offerings that would bring more tourists to the area.
