Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest in Livingston County

A traffic stop Thursday morning in Livingston County led to the seizure of more than 38 pounds of cannabis.

Illinois State Police District 6 said a trooper stopped a vehicle on I-55 near Pontiac for a traffic violation. During the stop, the odor of marijuana was detected and the vehicle’s driver and passenger were taken into custody for outstanding warrants.

Anita Williams, 45, of Peoria, faces several drug charges, including delivery and possession of cannabis over 5,000 grams. Williams is being held in the Livingston County Jail.
