Fairbury Streets Dominate Discussion

By A.J. Harris

At the latest meeting of the Fairbury City Council, street repair was a big part of the agenda.

Reports from the meeting say that  Joe Russow of the Farnsworth Group explained the work that needs to be done. Motor Fuel Tax funds from May 1, 2019 through April 30, 2020 will provide the revenue.

The projects are not expected to be as severe as last year’s renovations and street repairs.

Russow says that ten of the 11 items are standard items that happen every year.

The estimated cost of the projects, including patching streets and seal coating, is just over one-hundred thirty thousand dollars. The council approved one-hundred forty thousand dollars from MFT funds .
