Area emergency crews started their week with two unrelated incidents in Pontiac. In the early hours of Monday morning Pontiac, Fairbury and Cullom fire crews responded to a fire at 60 Redwood Manor Park. No injuries were reported, but two dogs and a snake are missing in the aftermath of the blaze. The mobile home involved was destroyed. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

As Monday morning wore on, emergency crews were called out again as a contractor hit a gas line in the 1000 block of Madison street  in Pontiac. Nicor crews dealt with the damage and Pontiac Fire Chief Scott Runyon said gas service to half a block of the street was shut down while repairs were made.
