After 20 years in the real estate business, Joan Bullard was named 2019’s Business Person of the Year by the Pontiac Area Chamber of Commerce.

She opened Bullard Realty two years after selling US Co-Tronics Coil Factory in Fairbury, which she owned and operated for 15 years with her late husband Bob.

“I love it, it’s probably one of the best jobs I ever had,” Bullard tells the Pontiac Daily Leader. “I have such a good team around me.”

She gives much of the credit to her staff, including her daughter, Melissa, who serves as her secretary.

“I love having all of them, it’s like family.” She goes on to say.

Bullard serves on the Board of Directors for the Pontiac Chamber, is involved with the Boys and Girls Club of Livingston County, and is also involved with St. Paul’s Church and School.

She has also served as Republic Precinct committeeperson and as a member of the Republican Central Committee, as well as the Livingston County Board.

She was shocked, honored, and grateful after receiving the award.
