Pontiac District 429 Director of Curriculum Josh DeLong has announced he will be leaving the district.

DeLong, who has worked in Pontiac for over a decade, has accepted a superintendent position for Gardner-South Wilmington High School and Braceville Elementary School beginning next school year, according to the Pontiac Daily Leader.

Starting with Pontiac in 2008, DeLong has held several administrative positions. For six years he was the principal at Washington School before moving to his current position.

The District 429 Board of Education recently approved the hiring of Debra Honegger to fill the Director of Curriculum position.

Honegger has served within the district as an English-Language Arts coach for the Regional Office of Education.
