Wednesday Morning Sports Update

Chicago Cubs 3 Milwaukee Brewers 0

Cubs Pitcher Jose Quintana allowed just 3 hits in just over 6 innings to get the win.  Catcher Victor Caratini drive in 2 runs as Chicago increased their lead over the Brewers to 2 games in the National League Central division.  The two teams will play again tonight.

St. Louis Cardinals 11 Pittsburgh Pirates 5

The Cardinals banged out 11 hits to get the win.  Pitcher Miles Mikolas improved to 15 & 4 on the season.  St. Louis remains 3 1/2 games behind the Cubs in the NL Central and 1 1/2 games up in the wild card race.  Game 3 of the series will be this afternoon at Busch Stadium.

Kansas City 6 Chicago White Sox 3

The Royals scored 3 runs in the 3rd and never looked back.  The Sox are now 56 & 89 on the season.  Chicago will be in Kansas City again tonight.

The Boston Red Sox became the first team to clinch a playoff spot with their win over Toronto.

In college football, Illinois will host South Florida Saturday afternoon.  You can catch the action on WJEZ at 1:30.

Open registration is now available for the first year of the Pontiac Jr. Indians baseball program.  The spring/summer program will begin in 2019 for youth players at the 9u-12u ages and will be conducted in conjunction with the PTHS baseball program.  For more information on the Jr. Indians program, contact [email protected].
