Crops are progressing nicely according to the state’s latest crop progress report.

The State Statistician for the USDA’s crop reporting service, Mark Schleusener, says soybeans are closer to harvest with 16% of the crop changing color.

Corn is also maturing, with about the same percentage of good-to-excellent ratings.

Schleusener says you can’t complain about the weather adding the rain we’ve had in August has been a big boost.
