The Chenoa City Council Monday took up the discussion about charging more for recycling.
In front of Mayor Chris Wilder and the commissioners is the decision of whether or not charge an additional 69 cents per customer for recycling.
Republic Services is asking the city for the increase as its fees have increased and say they will adjust the rate if fees come down.
The mayor made note of the good moves republic has made to support Chenoa, including stepping up when the city’s previous waste company abruptly quit in the midst of contract negotiations.
City Attorney Steve Mann, however, was quick to point out he had with the language of the contract.
No decision was made as the mayor and commissioners agreed to hold off on voting on the item.
