Jontry says Summertime will be busy at R.A.S.

Regional School Superintendent Mark Jontry

The Livingston County Alternative School has another year under its belt, and Regional Superintendent of Schools Mark Jontry says the next step is to enhance summertime offerings. Jontry’s office oversees the school’s operation, and he says that summer school opportunities are particularly important for students who are just slightly behind the power curve. “We’re starting up a summer school credit recovery program that’s going to allow them to participate with the idea that they could earn their credits to graduate.”

These credit opportunities are important in helping students achieve their diplomas. “Research will tell you,” Jontry says, “that kids that get behind in their credits are the ones that are most likely to drop out and not graduate.” Jontry says parents who are interested in programs at the Regional Alternative School should contact the administrators in their home districts.
