Marsh Park on Ash Street in Fairbury has had work done in the last couple months from residents looking to improve the community.

Dale Maley spearheaded this project with plenty of helpers coming in to pitch in, and while the grand opening of the park isn’t planned until next summer, a lot has already been done.

“When people come by the park, they really like the new gazebo. In fact, there’s talk of holding weddings in the gazebo. So you could have your wedding in the gazebo. You could have a band playing in the new bandstand. You could hold your reception in the new screened-in pavilion and we have a newly upgraded restroom for any type of activities,” Maley said.

For people interested in donating for these projects, they are asked to send checks to the non-profit organization The Prairielands Foundation at 104 East Locust Street in Fairbury.
