The Farm Bureau has an action request for farmers to lend their voices to the “drain the rule” when it comes to the Waters of the United States.
Livingston County Farm Bureau Manager Jody Hughes explained that their main goal is to be a legislative voice, whether local, state or national, to get the opinions of people on WOTUS and she said the EPA is currently accepting comments and she is urging concerned residents to make their voices heard.
“There is a petition that can be signed. If you go to ilfb.org/actioncenter, all the information is there. You can sign on to that and have your voice heard out in DC. Again, we are trying to “drain the rule,” stop this – it puts a lot of regulation on our farmers, which we don’t want, regulating all our waters,” Hughes explained.
