The Normal Cornbelters are honoring the employees of the Illinois Department of Corrections during Saturday evening’s game.

TEAMS Coordinator Kurt McCormick said, aside from the game, the evening will include the IDOC Honor Guard presenting its colors, a department family member singing the national anthem, staff recognition and other ceremonies, like the first pitch. He said the game is for everyone to come out and enjoy.

“I think it’s absolutely fantastic. It just gives the Department of Corrections the opportunity to let people know that we have an important job that we’re doing and letting people know exactly what that is. We are a law enforcement agency that probably most people don’t recognize or understand more than what they see on TV or in some sort of scary movie. So, it’s really amazing to be a part of all of that,” McCormick said.

Tickets are $15, with five for admission and ten for concessions. Call 309-454-2255 to reserve your tickets for the 6:30 game.
